• The tradition of service in the immigration field proudly begins with Edward Ferro. Edward Ferro was a Special Inquiry Officer (now known as “Immigration Judge”) for the legacy Immigration and Naturalization Service. Judge Ferro presided over his bench on historic Ellis Island in New York Harbor. Judge Ferro presided over the admission of tens of thousands of immigrants during his long tenure as an immigration judge. Judge Ferro retired in the 1950's only after realizing more than forty years of service with the legacy Immigration and Naturalization Service.

His daughter Josephine Ferro, of counsel to the firm, is the grand matriarch of Ferro & Cuccia. Josephine, a proud graduate of St. John’s University Law School, has been a practicing attorney for over 60 years. Josephine began law school in 1943, when World War II was raging, and was admitted to the Bar in 1946. She has been a well respected attorney for many years.

Josephine is admitted to the following courts:
    United States Supreme Court
U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit
U.S. District Court for the S.D.N.Y.
    Supreme Court of New York.
Edward J. Cuccia, a proud graduate of New York University and Fordham University Law School, has been a practicing attorney for almost 20 years. Admitted to the Bar in 1990, Edward, our immigration guru, enjoys speaking with clients about the various legal issues that arise in their lives. Edward is our litigation specialist. Edward has appeared before the Immigration Court and the Department of Homeland Security all over the United States. Besides his regular New York stomping grounds of 26 Federal Plaza and Garden City, Edward has appeared in Newark, Cherry Hill, Boston, Philadelphia, Arlington, Seattle, Des Moines, New Orleans and Oakdale, Louisiana.

In the “old” days Edward was the Editor-in-Chief of the Fordham Intellectual Property Law Forum. In the “old, old” days Edward had aspirations to the stage. Edward made it to Off-Broadway before the lure of the law ensnared him.

While Edward never won a spelling bee or made it to 5th place in his class, Edward is very proud of his five children and wonderful wife, Ammy.

Ammy, the office manager of Ferro & Cuccia and the real boss of the firm, shares with Edward the certainty that there is no path but the right path and that only by providing honest and sound advice will we guide our clientele.

  • Together, my wife and I, along with Jason, Romben, and our dedicated staff, strive to provide only the finest legal services.

Charles Jason Lore graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Queens College and a Master’s Degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, during which time he completed internships at Covenant House, Williamsburg Works, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He ultimately attained his J.D. from New York Law School, where he graduated 5th in his class while working full-time (and being a father to then-newborn twin girls, which he would say is his greatest accomplishment).

Prior to working for Ferro and Cuccia, Jason was employed as a Child Protective Specialist, and later a Supervisor, at the Administration for Children’s Services in New York. It was an exercise in diligence, discipline and patience, as the agency is well known for high caseloads and media attention. While there, he attained extensive experience with New York Family Court while testifying on his cases – which is precisely what later convinced him to become a lawyer.

Jason has been working with Ferro and Cuccia since 2000. He now supervises all employment-based sponsorship cases, for both green cards and nonimmigrant work visas. He has obtained work visas for his clients in almost every single category, including H-1B, O, L, R, P, E, J and TN; and he has obtained green cards for his clients in every category, including extraordinary ability applicants, outstanding professors and researches, executives of multinational companies, investors, national interest waivers, advanced degree applicants, skilled workers, unskilled workers and religious workers. Ferro and Cuccia’s employer clients have included several major film companies, cable stations, restaurant chains, supermarket chains, banks, universities. His employee clients have included Hollywood and theater directors, television actors, Grammy-award winning musicians, investment gurus, published researchers – but also hundreds of everyday people working everyday jobs.

The firm’s family law practice is also run by Jason, and he has had dozens of cases including custody, guardianship, visitation, adoption, child support and enforcement, and orders of protection – and has appeared on Family Court cases in every single borough in New York.

Jason is admitted to the following courts and associations:
    New York Supreme Court
    New Jersey Superior Court
    American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA)
